I colored an old sketch of Ket & Cowbin as a gift for Red's birthday back in June! =} I used a new coloring workflow for this piece where I worked mostly on a single layer. After the initial sketch (>>22841), I applied flat colors, then overlaid that with deep shadows that filled the combined role of ink/linework and ambient occlusion. I continued working on this mega layer, blending shadows, adding highlights, and making fixes. It's not the most detailed color work I've ever done, but I completed it 3-4x faster than I would have a decade ago. I got all my ideas down on canvas, and the extra time can go to new and improved works that expand upon these characters at a future time, if the heart wills it~ Anyway, I'm glad to have colored Red's cow boy, Cowbin! ;}
